WHAT A MUD BATH! FESTIVAL GOERS GET DOWN AND DIRTY TO TRY BEFORE THEY BUY

Wynsors World of Shoes opened its doors to festival goers this week and even provided the mud, in the ultimate ‘try before you buy’ welly testing to ensure no music fan is left in a sticky, and shoe-less, situation this summer.

The filthy events saw a pop-up mud bath take pride of place in front of stores, ahead of the launch of the packed schedule of festivals, including Creamfields, Wireless and the infamously muddy Reading and Leeds festivals.

With last month being the driest June on record and temperatures set to continue for just another two weeks, we’ll see the summer festival season returning to the fields where wellies will become a staple wardrobe item once again.

Wynsors was keen to put its range to the test and customers tried out over ten styles of wellies across men’s, women’s and children’s footwear lines and were able to rate them on everything from comfort and style, to grip and strength in the battle against a mud mire.

Sue Needham, General Store Manager at Wynsors World of Shoes Newton Heath, said; “We’ve had an amazing run of sunshine, but every year you can guarantee the British weather will be predictably unpredictable and cause havoc at music festivals – and we’re sure this year will be no different – we’ve all seen an abandoned wellie lodged in muddy festival field.

“We thought we’d put our wellies to the test and let our customers try before they buy to make sure they’re up to the messy task of a British festival – and what better way to test them than in an actual mud bath?”
