Local businesses from across Hambleton will gather next month at The Hawkhills in Easingwold for the district’s annual spring business conference.
The Hambleton Business Conference on 11 May will focus on ‘what keeps business owners awake in the early hours’ with help to overcome challenges such as skill shortages, Brexit, Cyber Security and HR.
The conference now in its sixth year attracts around 100 representatives of businesses, town forums and networking groups in the area.
They will hear a key note speech from Barry Dodd CBE, Chairman of Global Service Manufacturing Group. Barry is joined by Martin McTague National Policy Director of the Federation of Small Businesses who works with Government and opposition leaders to represent the FSB along with representing the FSB in Brussels.
Annabel Jelley from the LEP will share her experience of how to overcome skills and recruitment challenges whilst the Regional Cyber Crime Unit will talk on the latest cyber threats and advise on how to stay safe and Sue Cross a retired Assistant Chief Constable from North Yorkshire police and now owner of Roseberry Training will be speaking about the National Cyber Security Strategy and Risk Management for small businesses.
Delegates will be able to take away practical advice and tips that they can put in to practice back in their business.
The conference is organised by the Hambleton District Council and sponsored by Federation of Small Businesses, Northern Skills Group – Middlesbrough College, Colin Hutson Accounting Ltd, North East England Chamber of Commerce and Teesside University.
