The Wilton Centre has raised more than £700 for this year’s BBC Children in Need Appeal.
The Teesside business and science park has supported the fund raising initiative for the past 30 years and continues each year in memory of former employee Gillian Hainton-Smith, the centre’s main Children in Need organiser and fund raiser until her sudden and untimely death some three years ago.
This year money was raised from the business and science park’s office and laboratory workers via a raffle and a competition to see who could ride a spinning bike for one kilometre the quickest.
“We would like to thank companies and individuals who donated prizes, and everyone who took part and contributed. Children in Need is a special time for us at the Wilton Centre, remembering Gill, as well as helping good causes,” says Steve Duffield, Site Director at the Wilton Centre.
