The appointment comes as part of the firm’s plans to expand its serious injury team, with a specific focus on brain injuries.
Previously an Associate Solicitor in the Serious Injury Department at TLW Solicitors, and a Catastrophic Injury Solicitor at Minster Law, David joins Winns with the specialist expertise needed to widen the team’s experience of serious brain injuries, in order to provide a complete service to all, including the most seriously injured clients.
David said: “I am delighted to have joined the Complex Claims Team at Winns. I am passionate about helping those who have sustained life changing serious injuries. I work tirelessly in the best interests of my clients and fight to achieve the best possible outcome for them and their families, in terms of compensation and quality of life as a whole.”
David specialises in high value and complex serious injury claims, including brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputees, multiple orthopaedic injuries and fatalities. As well as his new position with the region’s leading accident management specialists, David will also continue his current post as Branch Secretary at local charity Headway, in County Durham.
He continues: “I look forward to spending my time at Winns supporting clients by maximising damages, ensuring their rehabilitation needs are met and assisting with the day-to-day practical and emotional needs of both my clients and their families.”
This is the firm’s second major appointment within the last few months, after Head of Change Management Clint Milnes joined the senior team in order to explore options to develop services, target new markets and identify additional revenue streams as part of the acquisitions strategy.
The spike in recruitment comes as the firm looks to embark upon the next phase in its development having secured an eight-figure refinancing arrangement with NatWest as part of its business growth strategy, earlier this year. The addition of David further strengthens this strategy by expanding on existing areas of business and also focussing on claiming new areas of the market.
Associate Director Jo Amos said: “We are delighted to welcome David to the Complex Claims Team at Winn Solicitors. His extensive experience of dealing with serious injury cases will be of real benefit to the firm, and to the growing number of clients who are turning to Winns for support after a serious injury.
“David’s commitment to supporting clients who are suffering from catastrophic injuries is evidenced not only through his role at Winns, but also by his long-term commitment to working in association with the brain injury charity, Headway.”
Headway County Durham is a registered charity, set up to improve the lives of those who have suffered brain injuries in the County Durham area. In this role, David assists in the development, organisation and implementation of support services and information for brain injury survivors, their families and carers as well as professionals in the health and legal fields.
