Women’s Star Wins Goal Of The Month Award

Women’s Team skipper Justine Robinson has rounded off another superb season by scooping the Club’s Super 6 Goal of the Month award for April.

Robinson’s spectacular long-range strike during Pools Women’s 7-1 destruction of Wallsend at The Super 6 Stadium won by a landslide when we opened up last month’s shortlist to a fans vote.

The attacking midfielder scored four in the stunning victory but her third goal of the day was the one that stole the headlines – a dazzling thirty-yard drive in to the top left corner of the net.

Robinson’s award is the icing on the cake for the Hartlepool-born star who was Pools’ top scorer this term and was also second in the overall NERWFL Premier Division scoring charts.

The 28-year-old was at The Super 6 Stadium on Thursday afternoon to be presented with the Super 6 Goal of the Month trophy by First Team boss Craig Hignett.

“As soon as I got the ball I knew what I wanted to do,” she explained.

“Some of the other players were shouting at me to just keep the ball moving but I knew it was in as soon as it left my foot, it was just one of those.

“Hopefully I can score a few more like that next season too.”

Pools Women’s Team finished as runners-up in the Premier Division during 2018/19 and will now hope to mount a bid for promotion to the National League next term.
