The club were delighted to re-sign the high flying forward during the summer and Wright has underlined why that was the case with some dazzling displays ever since the new campaign swung into action.
Riders have won all of their six games so far and Wright has posted some standout numbers – as well as serving up his usual mesmerising offerings for the highlights reel, with a succession of spectacular dunks and blocked shots.
Behind the headline throw-downs and swats, Wright has also shown leadership and versatility, in addition to his priceless athleticism.
He has averaged more than 16 points per game and is currently leading the league in three-point shooting at 50%, as well as in blocks with a stunning 2.7 per game.
Wright only just pipped Sheffield Sharks’ duo Antone Robinson and Jerrold Brooks to the award, with the rookie duo both having enjoyed a productive start to their respective BBL careers.
