Spring is in the air at the new Wynyard Park housing development where a dazzling display of over a hundred thousand daffodils is creating a real sense of arrival.

The sea of yellow flowers offers a cheerful greeting for residents and a wow factor welcome for visitors to The Meadows on the site that is adjacent to Wynyard Village.

Preparations for the breath-taking blooms involved a special shipment of bulbs from Holland last autumn and an intensive two-day planting operation using specialist machinery, also shipped across for the task.

Craig Pinder, Development Manager of the site located between Stockton-on-Tees and Hartlepool, said that the planting is part of ongoing investment to create a unique place to live.

“We want people who live at Wynyard Park to have a real sense of pride in where they live and residents have reacted extremely positively to our amazing daffodil display.

“Lots of visitors to the development have also commented on how powerful the visual impact is of the sheer number of flowers on show.”

Residents can also look forward to a wildflower meadow that has been planted to replace the daffodils when they fade.
