Its promising U-16 Girls side has reached the finals of the National Schools’ Competition, which is England Netball’s flagship school competition, following an unbeaten regional netball tournament consisting of seven wins out of seven.
This year’s final will be taking place at Roedean School, in Brighton, on 19 March.
Mrs Naomi Redhead-Sweeney, Head of Girls’ Games, said: “I am ever so proud of the team and coach, Miss Sam Cottrell, who have worked extremely hard this season. Their place in the national final is fully deserved. We are all looking forward to Brighton now and the girls can draw on their experiences from last year’s final and hopefully build on their regional success.”
David Dunn, Headmaster of Yarm School, said: “I am delighted for our netball team who have worked extremely hard. With a bit of luck, they can celebrate national success come March. Our school sports programme has enjoyed great success in recent years, which is a testament to our commitment to a rich and diverse programme of extra-curricular opportunities.”
