A WEEKEND promising the ultimate St Patrick’s Day celebration will be kicking off with a return to the 90s.
Newcastle’s Times Square will welcome the return of the annual Paddy Fest this Saturday (14 March) with non-stop entertainment, street food and live music in a giant 2000-capacity, heated marquee.
But before that music fans can get in the mood the day before (Friday 13 March) when the giant tent hosts Born in The 90’s – an indoor festival which will relive those musical glory days.
Live performers at the event include Whigfield, who’s hit Saturday Night made her a global sensation, along with Another Level, Alex Party and NTrance.
Previous events were held at Wylam Brewery but transferring it to Times Square means there is more room for everyone – and a bigger and more exciting production.
Free glowsticks and inflatables and face painters will help recreate the era as will dance-offs and Mike MishMash on the decks – with everyone encouraged to dust off their Kappa trackies and shellsuits, with £100 up for grabs for the best 90s outfit.
The festival has been created by EVNT Live – the new event arm of North East company, EVNT Inspirations, who have been behind some of the biggest and most exciting experiences in the region.
Then the following day the focus will be on all things Irish where, along with Irish bands and DJs, there will be an endless supply of Guinness, fully themed Irish décor and a party atmosphere from 12 noon right up to 11pm.
The event is split into ticketed afternoon and evening sessions with the first taking place from noon until 5.30pm and the second from 6pm to 11pm.
Tickets for both events are still available at www.EvntLive.co.uk
Nigel Holliday, a director of EVNT Live and EVNT Inspirations, which is delivering Paddy Fest 2026, said: “Expect big crowds, big energy, ice-cold Guinness and non-stop entertainment from start to finish.”
He added : “we’ve got an absolutely phenomenal weekend of entertainment lined up, with something for everyone.
“Having some of the most iconic names from the 90s will make Friday an unforgettable event and then we’re straight into celebrating everything Irish.
“Both events are something that nobody wants to miss.”
