A further opportunity has arisen for four of our finest young grassroots referee’s to travel to Portugal in July next year to enhance their development by participating in the prestigious IBER Cup in Estoril. This is a wonderful opportunity for the officials learn from UEFA and FIFA officials, alongside a number of teams from the world’s elite teams including FC Porto, SL Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, F.C Zenit, Liverpool FC, Bayern Leverkusen, Juventus, Lyon, Athletico Madrid and Inter Milan, as it is an additional opportunity we need to develop our up and coming referees and sponsorship to fund this.
We were fortunate to have four officials at the tournament last year. The four individuals, Dane McCarrick, George Roberts, Jonty Gill & Tim Craig benefited immensely from the tournament this year both on and off the field and it was extremely pleasing to see four local lads progress ever so well on the International stage.
