Mackenzie Thorpe Releases Special Boro Print

CaptureBoro-born artist Mackenzie Thorpe is returning to his roots with a Special Timed Edition print that celebrates his support for Middlesbrough Football Club and MFC Foundation.

The esteemed artist, whose career has seen him commissioned by HRH Queen Elizabeth II and earn an honorary doctorate from Teesside University, has produced ‘Where The Heart Is’, a stunning piece that encapsulates the relationship between Middlesbrough Football Club, the town and its fans.

Thanks to the support of Middlesbrough Football Club, Boro fans have a great chance to see the image for themselves – the artwork will feature on the cover of #UTB, the club’s official matchday programme, for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday on December 28.

Mackenzie will release a print of ‘Where the Heart Is’ in the New Year with a percentage of proceeds being donated to MFC Foundation to support the charity’s work with more than 35,000 people each year across Teesside.

Plus, Arthaus Gallery will be making the first edition print a personalised one-off available for purchase via the Gallery in Richmond – the highest bidder will also have the opportunity to attend MFC Foundations 20th Anniversary Ball as Mackenzie’s special guest.

This is just the start of a pledge from Mackenzie and the Arthaus Gallery, Richmond to support the Foundation throughout 2016, its 20th year as a charity.

Mackenzie Thorpe said: “MFC Foundation does fantastic work, and I always want to support my home town as best I can, so the Foundation is, in many ways, a perfect charity for me to work with. To me the club represents a sense of hope and identity, which is exactly what a lot of my work is about.”

Ann-Marie Anderson, Fundraising and Sponsorship Manager at MFC Foundation, said: “We are honoured and delighted to have the support of Mackenzie and the Arthaus Gallery. In the same way that Mackenzie’s art inspires the people of Teesside, his support will help our charity continue to raise aspirations across the region.”
