Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

18598Frank’s the Flooring Store, one of the North East’s largest independent retailers, have given the perfect gift this Christmas with a £25,000 charity donation.

Staff from the company’s 25 stores have taken part in fundraising events throughout the year, culminating in a festive fancy dress day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Team members donned costumes including full Christmas suits, festive jumpers, reindeer antlers, Santa and elf hats, with one even wearing Christmas turkey headgear.

Generous donations from staff, customers and suppliers have brought in £7,500 so far, which has been trebled by Frank’s the Flooring Store, making £22,500 for Macmillan. But with donations still coming in, the total is likely to be £25,000.

The initial money raised has been matched by Frank’s parent and online companies CreateCity and Connection Retail.

Jason Maguire, managing director of CreateCity group, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the total we’ve raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“We launched this fundraising drive for the first time last year, raising £15,000, so to have raised an extra £10,000 during 2015 is amazing and testament to the generosity of our team, our customers and our suppliers.

“Macmillan does some incredible work to provide support during life’s most difficult times. Everyone has either been directly affected by cancer, or knows someone who has been, so it was a fitting charity to choose. It’s been great to see everyone getting into the Christmas spirit for such a deserving cause.”
