Billingham Rugby Club Colts in National Cup last eight

CaptureBillingham Rugby Club’s Colts are celebrating team and individual success with a great run this season. Unbeaten in their league, the Colts are also through to the last eight in the National Colts Cup after a strong win against Moseley last weekend, and will meet Leicestershire club Syston in the quarter finals on 13th March.

Individual players have also been drawn into the limelight. Josh Williams has been taken into the England U18s training camp. He received the news earlier this month from Peter Walton, the England forwards coach. Josh has started in all the Falcons U18s academy fixtures this season, has represented the Falcons A team down in Northampton, played First XV rugby and colts rugby for Billingham, and is also a member of the Hartlepool sixth form academy programme. Billingham Colt and Newcastle Falcons U18s regular Adam Radwan is also stepping up, having been picked for the northern Wallers sevens squad. As well as a host of English based competitions the Wailers also travel around the world playing in Kenya, Las Vegas and Dubai. Adam has played the full U18s season with Newcastle Falcons on the wing and has recorded some of the fastest sprint times they have on record. Adam has also played a leading role on the wing for the first team at the club, playing colts rugby when required, and representing Hartlepool Sixth Form academy outside of his club commitments.

The Colts have their next league match tomorrow (Saturday 27th February) at Billingham’s Greenwood Road ground, kickoff 2.15pm versus Ponteland. This is a great young team to watch, so come along and support them!
