Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

£48,000 cash pot up for grabs

Does your community centre need new windows? Would you like to transform a disused space into a children’s play area?

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations are being invited to bid for a share of a £48,000 funding pot for capital projects.

3 Towns Partnership is offering the cash to applicants wishing to deliver initiatives in the Crook, Willington, Hunwick or Tow Law areas.

Projects must meet one of the AAP’s four priorities:

  • Children, young people and families
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Community safety
  • Regeneration and safety of towns and villages

Funding of between £1,500 and £7,000 is available through the Capital Grants Fund. Applicants must have at least 20 per cent match-funding.

Sandy Denney, area action partnership coordinator, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for organisations to get hold of essential resources that would enable them to carry out a significant piece of work.

“The fund is larger than in previous years so we’re looking for groups that want to carry out building works, environmental improvements or to purchase more expensive items such as furniture, white goods or IT equipment.”

The deadline for applications is Monday, 18 September. Anyone interested in applying is advised to contact 3 Towns Partnership to discuss their project and request an application pack.
