To coincide with the opening of 50 Shades of Grey, at cinemas from 13 February, Tiger Hornsby, Quayside, Newcastle, is paying tribute to the film – based on the EL James trilogy – with a decidedly X-rated tipple.
The bar, which opened last year, is selling 50 shots – or two bottles – of Grey Goose vodka, along with a choice of mixers and all the trimmings, for a reduced price of £180.
However, while the film’s action centres on just two people; Anastasia and Christian, Tiger Hornsby’s 50 Shots offer was created firmly with larger parties in mind.
“Groups of customers often opt to buy bottles of their favourite spirit, which comes with decanters of mixers, so they can create their own drinks at their table,” said Tiger Hornsby owner, Newcastle entrepreneur Rachael Frame.
“And this is a variation on the theme; our Tyneside tribute to the film everyone’s already talking about.”
Among the mixers included in the deal are fruit juices and selected soft drinks*, while the range of trimmings includes lime, lemon, strawberries or raspberries.
Tiger Hornsby is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 2am, on Fridays and Saturdays, from 3pm to 3am and on Sundays from 2pm to 12am and admission is free.
