HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for the elderly at a Chester-le-Street care home summer fayre.
Pelton Grange Care Home, on Front Street, Pelton, collected £671 on the day, with jewellery and cake stalls, hot dogs, a bouncy castle, hook-a-duck and a tombola.
The sunny weather was enjoyed by all and children were entertained by staff dressed as cartoon characters Peppa Pig and Frozen’s Elsa.
Resident Norma Wright said: “I had a wonderful day looking around the stalls and I got myself a couple of nice bracelets.”
Lindsay Sale-Thorn, activities coordinator at Pelton Grange Care Home, said: “The Pelton Grange summer fayre is well-known in our community and lots of people come to visit.
“It’s great to see people and local businesses supporting us and the residents especially. All the money raised will go into the residents’ fund, which contributes towards outings for the residents.”
