THOUGHTFUL contractor Mark Bennison’s work at Lingfield Point, Darlington, has won him national recognition from the Considerate Constructors Scheme Site Awards.
Mark, a senior site manager for Interserve, has received a “Performance Beyond Compliance” award for going the extra mile while working on infrastructure projects at the business park.
As well as installing banners to promote health and safety Mark built planters for the onsite nursery Little Lingfields and carried out voluntary work.
Mark has worked at Interserve for 25 years, starting as an apprentice joiner at the company. Interserve is a multinational group of support services and construction companies based in the UK
The Considerate Constructors Scheme recognises those sites which have helped to improve the image of construction, looking at how workers have been more considerate towards neighbours, the public, the workforce and the environment.
Eddie Humphries, estate manager, said: “Mark has been great on site not only managing a safe and very tidy site but also making time to provide planting boxes for the nursery so the youngsters can watch things bloom and grow.
“Mark has been a pleasure to work with and I’m pleased his hard work and extra effort have been recognised.”“At Lingfield Point we always go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure customer satisfaction and are delighted when contractors and people working on our behalf do likewise.
Mark said: “I was thrilled to receive this award – I was just doing what I always do which is to think about the bigger picture around a project and try to help our neighbours where I can.”
