Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

All Star Five – Week 7

British_Basketball_League_(emblem)Two players hang onto their starting five places this week, along with some starting five debutantes.

Jerrold Brooks (Sheffield Sharks)
It’s a second starting five appearance inside the space of three weeks for Brooks, who was instrumental in Sharks overcoming Cheshire Phoenix last Friday. The guard provided the firepower from the backcourt and scored 25 points, including three big triples. He also contributed a sizzling seven assists and helped out on the glass with five rebounds in a fine night of work.

Ashton Khan (Worcester Wolves)
While there was a buzz around new Wolves’ signing Josh Cameron, it was Khan who inspired his team’s nail-biting win in Sheffield. The guard cemented back-to-back appearances in our fab five after accumulating an excellent 20 points from a dazzling 70% shooting display. He also added four assists, three boards and a steal.

Joe Chapman (Esh Group Eagles Newcastle)
No stranger to receiving accolades in the past, Chapman records his first appearance in our starting five since his return to the North-East club. The guard showed he isn’t only about offence and shooting ability, as he completed a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds to elevate the Eagles into the BBL Cup Semi-Finals.

Drew Sullivan (Leicester Riders)
Another former BBL MVP, Sullivan is used to finding himself in our line-up and he also takes a first starting place of the new campaign. The Great Britain star has led Riders to their impressive unbeaten start and amassed an all-action and efficient 12 points, seven assists, six rebounds and a steal in a one-sided win on the road in Plymouth.

Antone Robinson (Sheffield Sharks)
The Sharks’ frontcourt powerhouse retains his starting five berth after another fruitful weekend. Robinson racked up a massive 30 points in the victory against Phoenix, proving a real handful in the paint after converting 12 of his 18 attempts at the hoop. He was also just a solitary rebound shy of an outstanding double-double.

Off the bench – Mike Tuck (Sheffield Sharks), Perris Blackwell (Worcester Wolves), Sam Attah (Manchester Giants), Dzaflo Larkai (Leicester Riders), Josh Wilcher (Plymouth University Raiders), Kinu Rochford (Cheshire Phoenix), Warren Gillis (Glasgow Rocks).
