Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Normedica is a one-stop shop for quality medical supplies for health professionals and individuals with home medical supply requirements. Formerly known as Northumbrian Medical Supplies, Normedica is led by directors Joanne and Ross Tomkins who took ownership of the business in late 2019.
With years of experience in the healthcare industry and as owners of a group of successful healthcare businesses, including Balmoral Physio and Therapy Direct Healthcare, both Joanne and Ross are looking forward to growing the 40-year-old business nationally whilst staying true to their North East roots.
Owner Ross said: “At Normedica our ethos is simple; national reach, local touch. We are proud to be based in the North East providing quality medical supplies to those who need it across the whole of the UK.
“We are doing all we can to support our local healthcare providers, including GP surgeries and care homes, during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a smaller, independent supplier our supply chains are much more agile, so we are able to support the increased demand for PPE. We are speaking to a wide range of reputable suppliers around the world every day, to arrange large quantities of products to be delivered in a short time – which is just what our customers need right now.
“It’s so important that we support our communities in any way we can right now, whether that’s through our personal actions or our businesses. We are offering our masks stock to local GPs at cost price to support them at this worrying time. We are also offering free online consultations to over-65s and those who in the ‘at-risk’ group, through our expert team at Balmoral Physio.”
Normedica’s medical consumables and equipment are suitable for GP surgeries, dentists, nursing homes and other healthcare settings as well as individuals with home medical supply requirements.
