Top businesses, individuals and community projects from across Sunderland were recognised last week at the inaugural Amazing Wearside Awards.
The awards, which were designed to recognise and reward the hard work of people in Sunderland, took place at up-and-coming music venue The Point.
Organised by The Konect Group in conjunction with the Sunderland Business Network, the night saw nine businesses, individuals and community projects honoured for their work including awards for social enterprise of the year, business entrepreneur of the year and community project of the year.
Chief Executive of The Konect Group, Gavin Brown, said: “Sunderland has an amazing community spirit and an ever-growing business landscape and it’s important that we recognise the amount of work people here are doing to put the city on the map.
“Over the last few years in particular, Sunderland has undergone a huge transformation and these awards will help to recognise the people who contributed to that.”
