Stanley Town Council have provided funding for 80 young people from four schools in Stanley to become mini-police officers with Durham Constabulary.
At 0930hrs Thursday 14th January 2016 the new mini officers will parade at Stanley Police Station before marching through Front Street Stanley where there will be a launch ceremony at Stanley Civic Hall which will be attended by the Vice Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Mr Ron Hogg the Police and Crime Commissioner, Cllr Jan Blakey Chair of Durham County Council and Mayor of Durham City, Cllr Joan Nicholson chair of Stanley Town Council, along with other senior council and police officers.
After a short presentation the mini police will meet with traffic officers and dog handlers from TV’s ‘Police Interceptors’ before being transported back to school. This will be the largest mini-police ceremony so far.

The Schools involved are: Catchgate Primary School, Greenland Primary School, South Stanley Primary School, and East Stanley Primary School. There will be photo and filming opportunities at Stanley Police Station yard, Front Street Stanley, inside and outside the Civic Hall.
