Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Durham businesses celebrate Baldwins’ expansion at exclusive event

Companies from across the North East attended an exclusive launch event to celebrate the expansion of one of the UK’s fastest-growing business advisory firms.

Baldwins, a CogitalGroup company, marked the official opening of its new Durham office with over 80 clients, business leaders and friends of the firm on Thursday October 17th.

The firm invested in a 12,000 square foot office at Bede House on Belmont Business Park as part of its ambitious plans to strengthen its presence within the region and meet growing demand for its expert services.

The event included a grand tour of the new office space as well as refreshments provided by the Fire Engine Bar and entertainment from Luke Howells.

As part of its close links to the city, Baldwins is a gold level corporate sponsor of Durham Cathedral. The Very Reverend Andrew Tremlett, Dean of Durham attended the opening event and said: “I’m delighted to be here because Baldwins has been a long-term supporter of the Cathedral, having recently sponsored the Belfry Tower reopening event and we are immensely grateful for their support.”

Karen McParlin, Business Durham’s business engagement and account manager, who also attended the event, said: “It’s fantastic that Baldwins has moved into the area and we’re are looking forward to working closely with them in the future.

“I’m sure the team will make great connections within the local business community and I’m looking forward to seeing the firm flourish.”

With multiple meeting rooms, additional car parking and great transport links, the office will accommodate 70 members of staff and will place all services under one roof, varying from accounting, audit, tax, banking and finance through to corporate finance and restructuring and insolvency.

Leading the new office, Partner of Baldwins David McFarlane said: “We are so proud to be opening the new office in Durham, it is an integral part of the North East and instrumental in our plans to strengthen Baldwins’ presence within the region.

“The facilities provide an opportunity for us to host our own events and give us the ability to offer this space to others. This will be the office of choice in the area for every aspect of business advisory service.”

The Baldwins Group now operates from 95 offices across England, Scotland and Wales, with the Durham office a building block in the firm’s strategic extension plan across the UK.
