Following their success last year, popular North East business awards, The Amazing Awards, are returning to the region in September with ceremonies in Sunderland and Durham set to take place.
The Amazing Awards recognise and reward the individuals, businesses and community projects making a difference in their cities.
After a successful first year in Wearside last year, organisers of the awards, The Konect Group have added an award ceremony specifically for businesses, individuals and community projects in the Durham area to their calendar.
The Amazing Durham awards will take place at Ramside Hall, Durham on September 22 with The Amazing Wearside awards taking place the following week on September 29 at The Point, Sunderland.
Chief executive of The Konect Group, Gavin Brown, said: “I am delighted that we’ve been able to expand the awards to different parts of the region. There’s some great things going on in both cities and we want to congratulate the people who are making this happen.”
Entries are now open for businesses, individuals and community projects who want to recognise themselves, or somebody else, in a range of categories including New Business of the Year, Charity Event of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
The Konect Group, based in Durham, is a collection of five companies with expertise in business development, event management, design, planning and corporate gifts.
Gavin Brown, added: “The awards were a fantastic success last year in Sunderland and we’re excited to return later on in the year. By adding more awards to this year’s calendar we hope to interest more people in the area.”
