Beyond Housing has been recognised by the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) for its commitment to those serving in or leaving the armed forces.
The ERS encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme recognises organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
Beyond Housing has been awarded Bronze level recognition having signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and because it is armed forces-friendly, open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses/partners.
The company has sponsored Armed Forces Day celebrations in previous years and was due to support this year’s event in Scarborough, until its cancellation due to the virus pandemic.
Catherine Clennett, Head of HR at Beyond Housing, said: “We are pleased to have received this acknowledgement from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, which is testament to our commitment to those in and leaving the armed services.
“This underlines our open and proactive approach to offering great employment opportunities across our communities”
Kevin Bradshaw, Supporting Living Manager said: “As a Royal Air Force veteran, I am extremely pleased and proud that Beyond Housing has made this fantastic commitment to service personnel and veterans. I have witnessed first-hand the struggle that some have had in transitioning from service life to civilian life, so to know that my employer has made this real commitment gives me comfort.”
