A family-run business which manufactures health and wellbeing products at its headquarters in Pocklington, East Yorkshire, is eyeing growth with a major facilities expansion.

Power Health has added an additional 14,800 sq ft with a new building it has constructed which adjoins its existing 28,000 sq ft operation – the 50% increase in capacity will allow the company to produce and stock more lines as it grows its customer base.

Established in 1972 the company, which employs 65 people, manufactures and distributes a range of British-made products under its own label as well as other health-related brands.

It sells health and wellbeing products including vitamins, minerals, proteins and supplements, natural remedies for common ailments such hay fever and sore throats, a full range of CBD oils, through to natural beauty serums and cleansers.

As well as selling via its own website, the company’s products are seen on shelves across the country in independent health shops, pharmacies and national retailers such as Holland & Barrett.

Vicky McIver is the company’s Managing Director, her daughter Stephanie is the Purchasing Manager and other family members also work in the business.

Vicky said: “We moved into our current site in 1982 and we’ve outgrown all useable space so we’ve constructed a new building and knocked through to create a fantastic new facility.

“We manufacture, package and label all of our own products here as well as stock and distribute Power Health and other brands, so increasing the size of our operation by 50% means we can accommodate recent growth.

“Health and wellbeing is a growing industry and there’s huge interest and demand for natural and plant-based products, which most of our lines are.

“Because we manufacture here in Yorkshire, we are able to respond to industry trends very quickly so our expansion will allow us to stock a wider range and ensure that we can meet market demands.

“Whether that’s a newer trend such as CBD-based products, which has grown massively in the last few years, or something more traditional such as Fuller’s Earth which we brought back to UK shops this year, we are now primed for expansion.”
