Coast & Country is furthering its commitment to safety with the launch of its ‘Ask the Gas Man’ advice sessions.
The Redcar-based housing provider is welcoming both its tenants and the public to join them at the sessions, which span across the area, where a qualified expert will be on hand to answer their questions and raise gas safety awareness along with the importance of having all your gas appliances checked for safety
It is vital for those with gas or solid fuel burning appliances to understand how to identify the risks and know the rules of gas safety. Raising the awareness of carbon monoxide poisoning often referred to as the ‘silent killer’ and recognising the symptoms will form a vital part of the information available.
Iain Sim, Chief Executive of Coast & Country, said: “Providing safe and secure housing for our residents is the most important thing to us at Coast & Country. It is imperative that not only our experts but our tenants also understand the risks associated with gas and solid fuel appliances when they are not working properly.
“The sessions are open to all, our commitment to safety extends further than just those living in our housing, as an organisation we fully support the local community and think the drop-in sessions can be beneficial to everyone.”
The drop-in sessions will be monthly in the run-up to the national Gas Safety Week in September.
