Eighteen teams tested their cycling skills in Hambletons latest gym challenge – to cycle the 198km of Stage 3 of the recent Tour de Yorkshire.
Customers were given two weeks to complete the distance in teams of two, three or four finishing on Sunday 1 May – the day the tour crossed the district.
All 18 teams were entered into a prize draw to win a year’s free membership between them.
The winning team ‘thorn between two roses’ – a team of three completed the challenge at Hambleton Leisure Centre not only cycling the 198km but racked up a massive 750km – more than the entire Tour de Yorkshire route of 519km.
A special mention must go to the youngest team ‘The Gym Lads’ made up of two 14 year old junior members who completed the challenge in just the junior sessions (only 1 hour per day).
