SHOPPERS are urged to hop to Heaton for a Christmas market at one of Tyneside’s best loved breweries.

On the evening of Friday 13 December – from 5pm to 11pm – Anarchy Brewery is throwing open its doors to foodies, music lovers and Christmas shoppers at a free event celebrating the very best of Tyneside produce, crafts and entertainment.

Around 20 stallholders have signed up to take part in the night market – which is being held in support of West End Food Bank – selling everything from loose leaf tea to art, plants and perfumes.

And the child and dog friendly market will also include live music from Rise DJ Anth Holder and the chance to grab something to eat – including vegan and vegetarian dishes – from street food vendors The Big Banh and Lucca Pizza Co.

Among the stallholders taking part are Anarchy’s Heaton-based sister company Dot Bagel, Big Fat Donut Company, artisan cheese maker Tyne Chease and Balefire Sauce, renowned among food lovers for its hot sauce.

There will also be a range of bakes from The Little Cakery By The Sea, scotch eggs from The Yolker and vegan pasties and pastries from Smashin Pasties along with loose tea from Love Leaf Tea.

Crafts will be on offer from crochet and macramé experts, Hookd in Heaton, candles from Hot Wax and jewellery from Rat Salad, while artists The Little Wilderness and Holly Melissa will also be showcasing their work.

Stix Studio will be selling art and accessories for the home, as will Bianco Perry while Lilac and Thyme’s skincare, perfumes and cosmetics will be on sale along with candles and gifts from Witchy Woman.

Plantopia will be selling a variety of plants, alternative clothing is on offer at

No Kind Of Home and Anarchy will also have a stall selling its beer gift sets and its own range of branded t-shirts and merchandise.

Anarchy – a two-minute walk from Walkergate Metro Station – brews a variety of beers, with its popular collaboration beer, Wor Beer, available at bars and pubs across the North East, including at St James’ STACK.

And Anarchy makes a donation from every pint or can of Wor Beer sold, either online or through pubs, to Wor Flags; an NUFC fan-funded group, that creates flags of all sizes featuring messages of support for the team.

Scott Nendick, Taproom Manager at Anarchy Brewery, said: “We’re proud to be a Tyneside brewery and this night market is a chance to showcase other fantastic Tyneside products.

“So, whether you’re looking for some great food, want to snap up some really unusual gifts that you can’t get on the high street or if you just want a fun night out in a fantastic, family friendly environment, then I’d urge you to come along and celebrate and support small, local businesses.”

Vendors have all agreed to donate a percentage of their profits from the event to the West End Food Bank and made donations in lieu of a stall fee. There will also be a collection point for visitors to drop off donations.

Wor Beer and other ales in the Anarchy range can be purchased online at https://anarchybrewco.com/ or on draught at selected pubs and bars across Tyneside.
