Two North East businesses will come together in the name of charity when their staff face-off on the football pitch.
Staff at retailers Franks the Flooring Store and Connection Retail, which form part of Shildon-based CreateCity Group, will play against one another at West Auckland Football Club on Sunday, July 3rd from 6pm, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The two companies will donate £1,000 to the fund, with this figure set to rise following further sponsorship from West Auckland AFC, Envirostik, Hobbitz and Universal Mouldings.
On the day of the match, there will be various fundraising activities too, including a raffle, which will add to the total donation.
Wayne Jones, Area Manager at Franks the Flooring Store, said: “The CreateCity Group and, in particular, Franks the Flooring Store, have a longstanding relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support and we are more than happy to continue our support and raise vital funds for such a worthy cause. With the European Championships underway and a summer of sport to look forward to with the Olympics, it was only fitting that we staged a charitable sporting event, which our staff are fully behind.
“I would like to thank West Auckland AFC and all the sponsors of the match, which will provide a great evening of entertainment and some harmless banter and rivalry amongst our staff members!”
