Manchester’s own surgeon-singer-songwriter Tim Camrose takes things back to the beginning of his musical journey on his single She Saw Dolphins – out now.
The single transports audiences to an early morning boardwalk scene, specifically Mission Beach in San Diego, California. She Saw Dolphins sees the artist reminiscence on the moment on that boardwalk when he dreamed of being a successful songwriter. Accompanied by the woman that would become his wife, she spotted the dolphins in the surf, close to the shore, just as the artist vocalised his dreams.
She Saw Dolphins brings together the worlds of storytelling and contemporary adult rock on a single that carries the torch from the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Elton John, great songwriters he grew up listening to. Beginning with soft sounds of waves breaking, the single paints a picturesque scene complete with pop-y arrangements of guitar, piano, and horns.
She Saw Dolphins was released on Tim Camrose’s album Half of My Life and serves as a poignant revisit on how far the artist has come. Marking the beginning of his dreams to make it as an artist, Camrose is revisiting the single in 2025, on the cusp of a UK tour that will kick off at the legendary Dublin Castle music venue in Camden, London on May 7th, with further dates to be announced.
Camrose’s journey to recording artist has been an unusual one to say the least. After growing up in London as a keen musician, he left to pursue a career in medicine. As a restless young junior doctor, he quit medicine and returned to London to work as a market trader. However, a calling back to medicine eventually took him to his career as a surgeon in the Northwest of England. He has now returned to music, writing and singing his own songs telling stories based on his life experiences.
