North East engineers RWO has promoted Sam Innes to the Board as executive director, overseeing the management and growth of its residential structures engineering operations.
Working alongside the senior management team at Newcastle-based firm, he will be taking on the residential structures lead covering new business development, key account management, team recruitment and competency training, along with contributing to planned strategic growth.
Technical design and workflow compliance oversight will continue to be a key part of his brief as he leads an experienced team supporting customers Vistry Group, Karbon Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Bellway Homes, Barratt Developments among other house builders with structural engineering services and technical input.
He brings 15 years of experience and expertise in structural engineering and project management to the role as the firm looks to boost turnover to £4m in FY2026 across its Newcastle, Leeds, Stokesley and London offices.
“Sam is at the forefront of our residential structures work,” said managing director Ross Oakley. “Since joining us in 2024, he has established himself as an integral member of the leadership team, taking on more board-level responsibility. This is a natural promotion, which recognises his contribution to the business and ambitious plans for the future growth and development of our residential structures work.”
Sam Innes added: “I am very proud to be stepping into this role and look forward to taking a more hands-on role at the highest level at RWO as we look to develop our activities further and work on more exciting projects with the continued support of our highly talented team in the North East and Yorkshire.”
