MG Motor UK has confirmed that the all-new MGS6 EV will be available this month. Powered by a 77 kWh battery and offering drivers both rear and all-wheel drive options, the MGS6 EV is a spacious, refined and generously equipped C-SUV segment car from MG and has already secured a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. Complementing the recently introduced MG IM6 SUV, the MGS6 EV takes MG into new market segments and will continue the brand’s goal to offer customers the latest technologies.

The MGS6 EV will be available in three distinct variants, each underpinning MG’s customer-focussed approach of offering cutting edge, affordable technology to all. The MGS6 EV SE Long Range features a single motor with a total power output of 180kW and a WLTP combined range of 329 miles*. The MGS6 EV Trophy Long Range offers the same 329 miles capability, power and rear wheel drive configuration but with an even more extensive array of equipment for entertainment and comfort.

The MGS6 EV line-up is completed by the all-wheel drive MGS6 EV Trophy Dual Motor. Power output is increased to 266kW offering an enticing combination of grip and performance, delivering a 0-62mph time of just 5.1 seconds. This performance-focussed model achieves an impressive WLTP combined range of 301 miles*. All three models are capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in 38 minutes utilising rapid public chargers. Five drive modes with five regeneration modes, including One-Pedal, mode also feature.

The all-new MGS6 EV is the third MG model to use the highly acclaimed Modular Scalable Platform – first offered on the MG4 EV – which delivers outstanding dynamic handling combined with an exceptionally spacious and comfortable cabin.

All variants feature a  High Definition 10.25” Driver Display and 12.8” infotainment screen. The Trophy models also boast a Head Up Display showing key vehicle and safety information as well as navigation guidance.

Also featured in the Trophy models are heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof as well as an 11-speaker audio system. New, high quality seating options are also introduced with a choice  of grey or beige leather-style seats with suede effect inserts.

MG Motor UK has also announced OTR pricing details for the MGS6 EV. The SE Long Range is available at £37,995, the Trophy Long Range is priced at £40,995 and the Trophy Dual Motor £43,995. David Allison, Head of Product and Planning for MG Motor UK, comments:

Inside the all new MGS6 EV: stylish, spacious with technology for all

The interior of the MGS6 EV underlines MG’s commitment to combine the best possible technology with class-leading ambience, whilst still offering plentiful levels of interior space which can comfortably accommodate a family of five. A traditional boot plus a ‘frunk’ means nobody has to travel light.

Soft touch materials are used extensively throughout the cabin and stylish features include hidden and integrated air vents and Trophy models feature a fixed panoramic sunroof (with electric blind) to further elevate natural lighting levels.

Always responsive to customer feedback, the MGS6 EV features physical dials and buttons which are seamlessly integrated into the central console to control main functions like heating, ventilation and the audio system. The attractive central console area also features a 50W ventilated wireless phone charger on the Trophy models.

Materials and colour choices reflect MG’s goal to ensure the cabin of MGS6 EV is not solely about SUV roominess and practicality. Grey leather style and suede style seats with a technical, carbon effect trim or a beige (also leather style) and suede style with natural effect trim.

Whilst providing a wealth of infotainment for the driver and passengers, the cabin’s premium appearance is accentuated with a sophisticated twin screen layout, featuring a floating 12.8” HD touchscreen as well as customisable 10.25” HD Driver Display with three themes to choose from.

The ultra-thin battery technology (110mm horizontal cell design) utilised by the MGS6 EV and adaptability of the Modular Scalable Platform ensures there’s space for everyone and outstanding storage capacity. MG has created over 30 storage and practicality features throughout the cabin, including a large compartment under the central console.

Both front and rear passengers travel in comfort with excellent leg and knee room and heated front seats are standard equipment for all three models. There is absolutely no need to ‘travel light’ with MGS6 EV, with 674 litres of boot space available which extends to 1910 litres with the rear seats folded. A front ‘frunk’ offers up to 124 litres of storage.

The all new MGS6EV is fully connected when it comes to infotainment. Via the 12.8” touchscreen there is wireless connection to Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Trophy models come with in-built and popular apps such as You Tube, Spotify, Tik Tok and Amazon Music. Trophy models all feature an 11-Speaker audio system to enjoy any good music with.

MG’s innovative iSMART mobile app ensures you’re always fully connected with your car. Smart by name and by function, iSMART enables you find your parked car, check tyre pressures, available range or pre-heat or cool the cabin ahead of any journey.

Driving the MGS6 EV: safety throughout, efficient and responsive
The MGS6 EV is safety-focussed throughout, with MG investing in the best technology to ensure the safety of both occupants and other road users. The MGS6 EV is already in receipt of a 5-Star Euro NCAP safety rating with key assessments achieving impressive scores, this includes a 92 per cent score for adult occupants and 84 per cent for vulnerable road users.

There are seven airbags as standard equipment and drivers are supported by MG Pilot, which offers a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies. This includes Active Emergency Braking, four individual lane safety features, blind spot detection, intelligent speed limit assist as well as a driver monitoring system.

MG Pilot Custom– enables drivers to select and store their own Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to increase convenience or put particular focus on those safety features which they wish to prioritise.

Partnering with Continental, MG has equipped the MGS6 EV with the latest integrated braking booster system, specifically designed for EVs. The result is outstanding braking performance to maximise safety, with the large front and rear discs capable of stopping the car from 62mph to standstill in 36 metres (SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range).

Excellent EV range is achieved through intelligent, MG design and engineering. The lightweight chassis and use of underbody panels both assist driving range, and this is further supported by the Integrated Braking System (IBS) and Kinetic Recovery System (KERS). Additionally, there are five energy recovery modes, including One-Pedal mode, ensuring MGS6 EV has a mode for every driving condition and efficiency is optimised.

The 77 kWh battery offers up to 329 miles of driving range (WLTP) on the single motor RWD models and up to 301 miles on the AWD Trophy Dual Motor*.

The range-topping AWD Trophy Dual Motor offers excellent levels of power and torque with lively acceleration across the range when Sport Mode is engaged. Maximum power is 361PS/266kw with impressive levels of torque 398 lb ft/540Nm. 0-62mph can be achieved in 5.1 seconds. AWD mode is automatically engaged if there is insufficient traction.

The single, RWD motor models still offer excellent real-world performance with maximum power of 244PS/180kw and 258 lb ft/350Nm of torque. 0-62mph can be reached in 7.3 seconds. Potential maximum speed across both models is limited at 124mph.

With five drive modes to choose from (Normal, Sport, Comfort, Custom and Snow) and the use of a Front MacPherson independent and multi-link rear suspension, the MGS6 EV delivers a confident and dynamic driving experience. In town, the SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range have an 11.1m turning circle.

Designed to impress: unique style with function and strength
This latest member of the MG EV family offers a distinctive style but with function also being paramount.

The impressive range of both the single and dual motor models has been achieved by over 900 rounds of simulations as well as 5000 minutes of wind tunnel testing, which has resulted in excellent aerodynamic efficiency for a spacious C-SUV Segment car. The result is an ultra-low Cd 0.27.

Other key features include an Active Grille Shutter System at the front, front wheel deflectors and low air resistance aero wheel covers. These have contributed to almost 30 more miles of electric range. MG has created two striking wheel designs for the MGS6 EV, a 19” Meteor alloy wheel for the SE Long Range and the 20” Gulfstream for the Trophy Long Range and Trophy Daul Motor.

The body construction of the MGS6 EV delivers impressive strength which contributes to its high safety rating. Over 80 per cent of the body is constructed from high strength steel (HSS) with the addition of Advanced High Strength Steel and Ultra High Strength Steel.

At the front, the MGS6 EV offers a modern, technical appearance befitting an all new, electric SUV. This includes a split grille design inspired by the MG Cyberster convertible, integrated high and low beam lights and a new, daytime running light signature. The iconic MG octagon badge is prominently positioned on the front and has a polished, silver-effect finish.

In profile there are silver, load-bearing roof rails, privacy glass and a strong shoulder line. At the rear, the lower bumper features silver finish details and there is an integrated roof spoiler with brake light. An attractive full length central light bar design is positioned beneath the MG badge and in a clever touch the design has been optimized to gain some additional EV range.

MG has retained many of the colour choices that have proved popular with customers including Arctic White, Camden Grey, Cosmic Silver, Dynamic Red, Pearl Black but has selected the MGS6 EV for a new option which is the eye-catching yet subtle Stratford Gold.
