Local golfers have an opportunity to start the new season in style after it was confirmed the Alice House Hospice & X-energy Charity Golf Day is back for a third consecutive year.

Following the fantastic success of the previous two competitions, which saw thousands of pounds raised for patient care and plenty of fun on the fairways, the 2026 event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 2 at Hartlepool Golf Club.

Organisers are urging local businesses and golf lovers to book their spots, as teams are already filling up fast for what has become a highlight in the area’s corporate calendar.

Greg Hildreth, Business and Communications Manager at Alice House Hospice, said: “We are thrilled to bring this event back and hope to see many familiar and new faces joining us for another great day in aid of local Hospice care.

“We are currently looking for donations of good quality prizes for the day, and other sponsorship opportunities are available.

“I would like to say a huge thanks to our event sponsors X-energy. Thanks also to Azalea Wealth Management, Rephrase Media and Hartlepool Golf Club for their continued support.”

The organisers have created three team options for the 2026 tournament to the hope of attracting different golfers.

The Gold Pack is priced at £500. This premium option includes a 4-ball team entry, breakfast, and a two-course lunch. It also provides hole sponsorship, entry into the putting competition and a drinks package which includes 20 bottled beers.

The Silver Pack is available for £400. This includes a 4-ball team entry, breakfast and a two-course lunch, along with hole sponsorship to promote your business on the course.

And the Bronze Pack is priced at £300 and includes a 4-ball team entry, breakfast and a two-course lunch.

Harrison Smith, Managing Director at Azalea Wealth Management, who originally had the idea for the golf day, said: “It is fantastic to see how this event has grown over the last few years.

“When we first came up with the concept, we simply wanted to bring local businesses together for a good game of golf to support the incredible work of the Hospice.

“To see it returning for a third year with such high demand is a testament to the generosity and spirit of the Hartlepool business community. I can’t wait to get back out on the course and see what we can achieve for the charity this year.”

Headline sponsor X-energy is driving a project proposing the construction of up to 12 reactors next to the existing nuclear power station in Hartlepool.

Leon Flexman, Corporate Affairs Director at X-energy, said: “We are delighted to be back supporting this fantastic event for a third year. Supporting local causes like the Alice House Hospice is a key part of being a good neighbour, and we are proud to stand alongside the community as we work to bring the next generation of clean energy to the region.”

Alice House Hospice provides care and support to patients and families affected by life limiting illness, or the death of a loved one in Hartlepool, Tees Valley and East Durham.
It costs £3.7m to fund these services for one year; the Hospice receives 34 per cent of this in Government funding, leaving a shortfall of over £6,500 to be raised every single day.
