| THE latest meeting of a popular regional business network was held at Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light.
More than 100 people attended The Mussel Club event last Friday (August 14), which was held in the Stadium’s Quinn’s Sports Bar. Attendees were offered tours of the Stadium’s newly-renovated event spaces and a pitch side tour too. Headquartered in Sunderland, The Mussel Club was established in 2006 by David Cook, Managing Partner at wealth management company Northern Spire, and now has more than 5,500 active members. It is free to join. The meetings are held in prominent venues on Wearside and Tyneside – with recent meetings being held at the Hotel Du Vin in Newcastle, Ramside Hotel and Spa in Durham and the Sunderland Empire. Traditionally, the meetings have been hosted every other Friday, but because of demand, they are occasionally held weekly. The Mussel Club’s Tom Harvey, a Client Servicing Specialist and Marketing and Events Executive at Northern Spire, said: “We’re delighted with the numbers attending last Friday’s event and are grateful to SAFC for hosting the event for us.” Tom, who runs the Mussel Club on a day-to-day basis, added: “We have such a vast range of businesses and sectors who attend our regular events – from start-ups and one-person companies to major local, regional and national companies and organisations. People come and go during the meetings, which is fine as not everyone can stay for the full two hours – it’s important we’re flexible.” To sign up to the Mussel Club, or for more information about forthcoming events, go to www.themusselclub.com For more on Northern Spire, go to https://partnership.sjp.co.uk/northernspire |
