The Market Hall, is open every day up to Christmas Eve, including Sunday 18th, and there are also several festive markets too.
On Thursday December 15th, there will be the final Farmers’ and Producers’ Market of 2016, with fresh produce available as well as hand-crafted items.
A festive Craft InDurham Market will take over the Market Place on Sunday 18th, jointly organised by Durham Markets and Durham BID. This will feature creative and artistic producers from across the North East.
The regular Saturday outdoor Market will be open on Saturday 17th, with three more such markets taking place from Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd December. In addition, the Full Moon Market will transform the Market Place on the evening of Tuesday 20th December with a wide range of street food producers, as well as live music.
Colin Wilkes, Managing Director of Durham Markets, commented: “We’re looking forward to a busy couple of weeks in Durham City centre and have made sure there are plenty of extra reasons for people to enjoy shopping and eating here. We’d encourage everyone to visit as the markets and remember how good it is for our local economy to spend with these local independent businesses.
“And a heads up – for the last Farmers’ and Producers’ Market of the year on Thursday 15th, the queues start to build early on. The locally grown produce is especially popular at this time of the year!”
