YEAR six pupils from across Stockton Borough battled it out to be named winners of the annual Road Safety Quiz.
Around 1,300 children from 34 schools in the area took part in the initial rounds of the quiz and three schools made it to the final on Friday 9 December.
The three finalists were Junction Farm Primary from Eaglescliffe, Ingleby Mill Primary from Ingleby Barwick and St Paul’s Roman Catholic (Voluntary Aided) Primary School from Billingham.
Winners Junction Farm Primary School earned themselves a trophy, certificates and goody bags at Stockton Baptist Tabernacle.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, Councillor Nigel Cooke, said: “The quiz is a great way to help our young people be safe near the roads and the children had a great time.
“I offer my congratulations to the winning school and all the 1,300 children who took part.
“As well as having lots of fun, I know the pupils have taken plenty of useful and potentially life-saving information away from the competition.”
The Year Six children from Junction Farm Primary School also won a free ice skating or swimming pass courtesy of Tees Active.
