Recognition PR, the largest PR agency in the North East, has invested in a live-streaming video service to give businesses and charities the ability to publicise their events on social media in real time.
The investment in professional-quality, live-streaming technology, which allows videos to be broadcast on outlets including Facebook and YouTube utilising multiple cameras, with professional graphics and real-time AV mixing, adds another capability to Recognition’s full-time, in-house video service.
This builds on the company’s reputation as an innovator in the region’s communications industry, having been the first agency in the north to develop an in-house video service and introduce a broadband-based business TV network more than five years ago.
Daily, more than 100 million hours of Facebook video are watched, while it is estimated more than 650 million are watched on YouTube. According to Facebook’s own figures, people watch videos on its site for three times longer when they are being broadcast live.
The first event broadcast by Recognition’s new capability was a hustings for the Tees Valley mayoral elections, hosted by the Materials Processing Institute in Middlesbrough. The event was broadcast live on Facebook, enabling interested parties to view and comment on the event as it happened, and the recording remains available on the social network for others to watch later.
Graham Robb, Senior Partner at Recognition PR said: “This capability puts our clients at the forefront of digital commerce and social media. Live videos on social media platforms are the growth area in online communications and our new technology produces high definition videos that promote events, products and opinions. The world’s leading brands and public figures are using this technology so we are making it available to businesses in the North of England.”
“British Businesses are now competing in a globalised market place and even small, owner-managed companies need access to the latest technology. The ability to reach out to customers regardless of where they are in the world, in real-time has started define how companies communicate, much like the ascendency of the World Wide Web and the 24 hour media cycle did.”
Recognition’s new service allows videos to be streamed to Facebook, Periscope, livesteam, Ustream, YouTube, Wowza, and custom RTMP servers
