A fabulous night out for four people is on the cards for the winner of Positively Stockton-on-Tees campaign’s next prize giveaway.
Stockton’s popular arts centre ARC has donated four tickets plus a meal and drinks in its new No 60 restaurant for either Catch 22’s comedy night on28 August or for the family friendly show, Arnold’s Big Adventure on 12 September.
The Positively Stockton-on-Tees campaign was launched as a light-hearted response to Channel 4’s Benefits Street being filmed in the Borough.
It encourages people across the region and beyond to show their love for Stockton-on-Tees by sharing photographs, videos and stories online.
This month’s prize will be won by whoever is judged to have made the best contribution to the campaign during June.
Leader of Stockton Council, Councillor Bob Cook, said: “We launched the Positively Stockton-on-Tees campaign to shout about what makes the Borough special. So far we have seen thousands of residents sharing their films, photos, poems, models, songs and drawings to illustrate what is good about Stockton Borough. People have also given out flowers, visited neighbours, shared their favourite places in the Borough and local businesses such as ARC are generously donating prizes for the best stories.
“Although Benefits Street has ended the community spirit shown in the four episodes is here to stay. Get in touch with your stories and images about our Borough and you will have a chance of winning the prize.”
Chief Executive of ARC, Annabel Turpin, said: “We all know that Stockton is a great place to live and work and the Positively Stockton-on-Tees campaign proves just how passionate the town’s residents are when it comes to promoting what is brilliant about Stockton to both a local and national audience. We are very happy to support the campaign.”
