Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

The Return of the Rivet Catcher

Screen Shot 2015-06-29 at 12.12.42MUSIC lovers will be raising their pint glasses to toast the return of a one day ‘beer and bands’ festival at South Tyneside.

Rivet Catcher, a joint enterprise between Jarrow Breweries and Bede’s World, Jarrow, proved a big hit with music fans when it launched last year – now organisers hope to build on that success with a packed line up of local artists and ales.

The festival, which will take place at Bede’s World, Church Bank, on 25 July, will feature music from a variety of bands and the chance to sample some of Jarrow Breweries most popular tipples.

The bands taking part this year are: Northern Horizon, Meami, Elephant Memoirs, Twist Helix, People Making Noises, Miss Danby and the What, Dark Atom Movement, Zeerox and The Hoolivans.

Bede’s World director Mike Benson said: “We’ve built a growing reputation for live music and so a festival seemed the logical next step.

“Music lovers from across the region really got behind Rivet Catcher last year and we are expecting even bigger numbers this year for what promises to be a really great day.”

Rivet Catcher is part of the Treasures of South Tyneside 2015 programme of events, exhibitions and activities organised by Bede’s World, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums and South Tyneside Council.

Entry to Rivet Catcher, which takes place between 1pm and 10pm, is £3 and further information is available by calling Bede’s World on 489 2106 or visiting www.bedesworld.co.uk.
