North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

A pigturesque romantic getaway

Couples looking for a naughty but nice romantic getaway can enjoy a stay at a North East restaurant with rooms, with all the trimmings.

The Impeccable Pig, Sedgefield, has ten luxurious rooms for guests to choose from, all individually named in keeping with the venue’s theme, including The Whole Hog, Pigsty, Three Little Pigs and Pigs Might Fly.

And general manager, Pierre Bertolotti, believes that one room in particular, named The Dirty Pig, has special appeal for couples with a sense of adventure.

“The Dirty Pig definitely makes an impression on people when they first walk in because of its lavish décor,” said Pierre.

With a full wall upholstered as the headboard to a deluxe seven-foot bed, ornate gold tiles, plenty of mirrors and an abundance of fur, the unique room is proving popular among couples.

Guests can make the most of a freestanding round brass-finish bath in their room, a 55-inch flat screen TV, an Illy Coffee Maker and an en-suite bathroom with complimentary Duck Island toiletries.

And the room won’t break the piggy bank, starting at £125 per night.

“We wanted to create a luxurious room, perfect for couples looking to spend a romantic night together and completely different to anywhere they’d stayed before,” said Pierre.

“From the freestanding bath to the opulent fur throws decorating the room and all the amenities, we believe this room ticks all the boxes and we’ve had some fantastic feedback from those who’ve stayed.”

Guests can dine at The Impeccable Pig’s restaurant, headed by chef, Chris Finnigan, who was trained by Raymond Blanc at his Le Manoir and has also worked at several other Michelin-starred restaurants.

And those looking to further treat themselves during their stay can request one of the venue’s five rooms with hot tubs, including the premier suite, The Whole Hog.
