MIDDLESBROUGH’S “most action packed Mela yet” is on its way as the annual multi-cultural festival announces its 2017 line-up.
Big names on the varied bill include Cbeebies star Dr Ranj, The Only Way Is Essex’s Jasmin Walia and popular singer Zack Knight, along with headline acts HunterZ and Britain’s Got Talent star Signature, invited back by popular demand.
There is also a wide array of international and local performers across the weekend.
Now in its 27th year, the event takes place on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16, and as always promises family fun, captivating music, delicious food and much more.
Hosts for the weekend are Remel London on Saturday and BBC Asian Network’s Kan D Man on Sunday.
Mela Committee Chair Raza Rashid said: “We are absolutely delighted with the line-up for Middlesbrough Mela 2017 and the wide range of activities on offer.
“In particular getting Dr Ranj is a huge coup and we know how popular he will be with both his young Cbeebie viewers and their parents.
“Now the announcement of the full line-up is made we are now just really excited for the weekend and hope to see the same great audiences who always give their support.”
