A free cuppa and a chat are the order of the day at the launch of Ageing Better Middlesbrough’s latest Café Meet Up at Debenhams next Thursday (31 August).
Staff from Ageing Better Middlesbrough, a Big Lottery funded project, are welcoming anyone aged 50 and over to join them at the event between 3pm and 4.30pm at Debenhams restaurant, third floor. Hillstreet Centre, Middlesbrough, TS1 1LE.
Bringing people together in a safe and accessible place is a key part of the project’s aim to help tackle loneliness and social isolation across the town.
Rebecca Hughes, Marketing and Information Officer at Ageing Better Middlesbrough said: “Our Café Meet Ups are a great way for older people to come together, have a chat and a hot drink and hopefully spark a new friendship. Debenhams are also offering free refreshments for the launch.
“After the launch event Debenhams will be hosting the Café Meet Ups on the first Monday of the month, from 3pm to 5pm.”
Ageing Better Middlesbrough has a diverse membership who receive regular newsletters and what’s on guides – helping people stay active and engaged with their community as they get older.
