  • DS 7 CROSSBACK meets the most demanding standards of the WLTP test since its launch
  • All new products now produced by DS Automobiles are already WLTP protocol compliant
  • Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of these tests are closer to the figures achieved in actual customer use

COMPLETE RANGE IS WLTP COMPLIANT
Due to the technologies implemented on DS 3, DS 3 CABRIO and DS 7 CROSSBACK, like the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) on BlueHDi Diesel engine variants and Petrol Particle Filter on PureTech petrol 4-cylinder engines significantly reduce pollutant emissions on the entire new car range produced by DS Automobiles that is compliant to the latest Euro 6.2 standard in accordance with the WLTP protocol.

Yves Bonnefont, DS Automobiles CEO: “The customer is at the heart of our concerns and this is why we have always supported the implementation of representative customer fuel consumption information through measured procedures and we strive to anticipate the new protocols to stay at the forefront of technological developments. The Petrol Particulate Filter on our PureTech petrol engines, available on DS 7 CROSSBACK launched in 2018 is another very good example. All our vehicle production is homologated according to the Euro 6.2 standard.”

With the launch of DS 7 CROSSBACK, the first model of the second-generation DS range, DS Automobiles has launched its exclusive network that currently has 345 DS Stores and DS Salsons worldwide that is due to reach 500 outlets by the end of 2018 and is rolling out ‘Only You, the DS experience’, its unique and personalised customer experience programme.

WLTP vs NEDC:
Introduced in 1973 and updated in 1992, the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) was the driving cycle for the approval of vehicles marketed on the European market. It was used to measure consumption and pollutant emissions according to a 6-mile (11-kilometer) driving standard at an average speed of 21mph (34km/h).

In order to move closer to more realistic driving conditions, the Worldwide harmonised Light vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) standard is now in effect with more than 12-miles (23 kilometers) to travel at an average speed of 29mph (46.5km/h). These tests are conducted by independent technical services and they are intended to provide standardised information, regardless of brand and model. This drive cycle serves as a basis for the validation of the Euro 6.2 standard, which is a more stringent test for all elements of vehicle emissions.

As of 1 September, all models are exclusively homologated according to the WLTP test. An exception is made for existing vehicle stocks already approved within the NEDC protocol, which can be sold until 31 December 2018. As of 1 January, 2019, only the fuel consumption and emission values of the WLTP protocol can be displayed at the point of sale.
