All Star Five – Week 10

British_Basketball_League_(emblem)We have three debutantes in our starting line-up this week – including one who posted the best performance of the entire 2015-16 BBL season so far.

Jerrold Brooks (Sheffield Sharks)
Sheffield Sharks grabbed arguably their most impressive result of the season at the weekend, as they inflicted a first loss on Leicester and Brooks was instrumental in the success. He amassed a terrific 29 points, shooting 50% from behind the three-point line against the Riders. The guard also had four rebounds, three assists and a steal to get his third starting spot of the season.
Mike Cook (Sheffield Sharks)
It’s a first berth of the season for the former BBL MVP as he joins his Sharks’ colleague, after helping Sheffield to extract revenge on Riders for their narrow Cup exit earlier this month. Cook fired 22 points in another eye-catching shooting effort – this time 56% from the floor, as well as grabbing six boards, handing out four assists and coming up with a steal.

Jordan Williams (Cheshire Phoenix)

The Phoenix star has cemented a second appearance in our fab five after a typically influential and dazzling effort for his team in the match-up with Manchester Giants. Williams poured in 31 points in a haul that included five triples. The BBL rookie also mustered three assists, two rebounds, two steals and a block in another high-octane performance.

Kinu Rochford (Cheshire Phoenix)

Crashing into our line-up in spectacular fashion for the first time is another Phoenix player, with Rochford producing by far the best performance valuation after he achieved a whopping 43 against Giants. That was down to a magnificent double-double of 31 points from a jaw-dropping 79% from the floor and a monumental 18 rebounds. He also added two assists and two steals.

Darius Defoe (Newcastle Eagles)

The Eagles’ big man also makes his first appearance of the campaign, although is no stranger to our line-up. Defoe also shot the lights out to help the unbeaten leaders get past Worcester Wolves, after going a stunning eight of nine in the contest for 20 points. He also wrapped up four rebounds, two steals and an assist to keep the Eagles flawless.

Off the bench – Adrien Sturt (Plymouth University Raiders), Jeff Dirkin (Cheshire Phoenix), Demond Watt (London Lions), Perris Blackwell (Worcester Wolves), Drew Sullivan (Leicester Riders), Callum Jones (Manchester Giants), Akeem Ellis (Cheshire Phoenix).
