Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

All Star Five – Week 8

British_Basketball_League_(emblem)There are two debutantes in our line-up and a player who keeps his starting place for the third consecutive week.
Daryl Corletto (Plymouth University Raiders)
It’s been a tough initiation to the player-coach role for the Australian and losing heavily on the road at Leeds last Friday was a low point. But Corletto helped turn things around less than 48 hours later, when he hit what proved to be the game-winning shot at home to Glasgow Rocks to finally get a first victory. The guard also takes his debut place in our line-up after harvesting 23 points and five assists.
D’Andre Bullard (Leeds Force)
It’s a second appearance this season for the Leeds Force guard after he played a central role in the Yorkshire club enjoying one of their best weekends since entering the BBL. His side won at Cheshire Phoenix, but it was his display in the win against Plymouth University Raiders which stood out. Bullard didn’t have his greatest shooting night, but finished with 19 points and a fine eight assists and eight rebounds.

Louis Sayers (Leeds Force)

It’s a debut in our fabulous five for the British forward who shone brightly with an outstanding performance against his former team Plymouth University Raiders. Sayers recorded a stellar effort to take Leeds to a big win after contributing 20 points which included a fantastic five triples. He also grabbed five boards and dished up three assists.

Drew Sullivan (Leicester Riders)

The Great Britain and Riders’ star keeps his starting five berth after playing the major role in taking his team into the BBL Cup Semi-Finals with a hard-fought home court win against Sheffield Sharks. Sullivan amassed a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds, as well as weighing in with two assists and a blocked shot.

In a rich vein of form, the Sharks centre racks up a third successive appearance to jump to the top of our season leader board after helping his team take down Manchester Giants. He posted the best display of the entire weekend after completing a super double-double of 24 points and 13 boards, from a spectacular 10 of 13 floor shooting.
