Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

A new 13-hole adventure golf course opened on Wednesday at The Alnwick Garden with the Duchess of Northumberland.

The award winning attraction has been named The Forgotten Garden and was designed by The Duchess who was inspired by nature.  Visitors can expect to be squirted with water, walk through a giant hornets’ nest, and feel enthralled with the life size toadstools, wooden bridge, giant worm and a huge spider.

Young people from the community who are involved with the Forget Me Not programme at the Alnwick Garden Trust played golf with the Duchess.  The Forget Me Not Community Programme organises inspiring and fun activities for the young people aged between 14 and 24 and their families to help them develop independence and social skills.

The Duchess said “the Forgotten Garden is something new and special that the whole family can get involved in.  I am especially delighted that the young people from our Forget Me Not’s programme have been able to help me officially open the attraction today”.

Entry to the course is £4.80 adults, £3.80 children or £17 family. The cost is reduced if a Garden ticket is also purchased, while Friends of The Alnwick Garden also receive discounted entry.
