ALNWICK JUNIOR TRI RETURNS FOR FOURTH SUCCESSFUL YEAR
On Sunday (23 June 2019) 97 competitors were out in force to take part in the fourth annual Alnwick Junior Tri at Druridge Bay Country Park.
Sponsored by Miller Homes and hosted by Alnwick District Triathlon Club, the event is part of the England Junior Grand Prix series and open to children aged between nine and 16 years old.
The race began with an open water swim in Ladyburn Lake, followed by a bike course between the park and the dunes, ending with a run in the park around the footpaths and meadow tracks.
Each participant was provided with a racing t-shirt as well as a goody bag and medal to take home.
The event’s setting, Druridge Bay Country Park, is a close to Shoreland Park; a new development of two, three and four-bedroom homes from Miller Homes, with prices starting from £124,950*.
