Award success for Thirteen Group staff

19122Two members of staff at Thirteen Group were recognised for their achievements at the recent Constructing Excellence Generation4Change awards.

Trainee Investment Officer Rubie Lee and Project Officer Stuart Poulter, both from Thirteen’s Property Services Investment Team, were shortlisted in the Trainee of the Year category.

Rubie was the eventual award winner while Stuart was ‘highly commended’ in the category.

The Generation4Change North East Awards celebrate young achievers and the organisations which support and train the future leaders of the construction industry in the North East.

Award-winners need to demonstrate achievement throughout their career and show how they’ve developed communication, team and leadership skills.

The awards judges were looking for candidates who have undertaken construction-related training and who have shown commitment to training and development throughout their career.

Nik Turner, Head of Investment at Thirteen, said: “We decided to nominate Rubie and Stuart for these prestigious awards as they are both excelling in their roles in Thirteen’s Investment Team.”

Stuart and Rubie have assisted in the successful completion of the 2015/16 £35million investment programme. They played key roles in the delivery of works to revitalise housing estates covering all aspects of investment, from insulating homes to environmental improvement works that provide a pleasant environment for local communities.

Nik continued: “Rubie is attending Hartlepool College and has continued to grow from strength-to-strength in her role, using the skills that she has learnt from her education and training courses. She is showing real promise for a successful career within the construction industry.

“Stuart is attending college in Redcar and through his role has discovered a passion for sustainability. This has helped him play an active role in promoting sustainable technologies at community events and voluntary educational energy sessions in local schools. His commitment and dedication to personal progression, qualifications and training has helped Stuart continually excel throughout his career.

“We’re incredibly proud of Rubie and Stuart’s achievements to date and these awards validate their achievements on a regional level. Well done to them both.”
