Aysgarth Falls Hotel for sale in the Yorkshire Dales

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has been instructed to sell the Aysgarth Falls Hotel situated in the picturesque village of Aysgarth in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Set in five acres of grounds that sit above the famous Aysgarth Falls, the 4-star AA rated hotel dates back to the mid-eighteenth century with the pub section older still.

Current owners, Steve and Heather Swann, bought the property back in June 2010 when it was then known as Palmer Flatt Hotel. As well as changing to its more apt current name, the couple collaborated with the best architects and interior designers in the process of renovating and refurbishing the property to create thirteen contemporary and modern en-suite guest rooms, a pub, a dining area and conservatory restaurant, and outdoor terrace which overlooks the pond and the rolling hills beyond.

Steve and Heather both have a wealth of experience in the hotel and pub sector previously owning and operating Keld Bunkhouse and the longer established Park House Campsite in Swaledale, and The Castle Inn pub.

Mark Worley, Director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale comments, “This is an excellent coaching inn/hotel, beautifully situated among stunning fells and pretty valleys, presented to a very high standard. As well as this, the business is highly profitable, so the new buyer will not only have a wonderful way of life, they will also make a lot of money too.”

Aysgarth Falls has become somewhat of a tourist hotspot since its feature in the film The Robin Hood Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner and in the 1992 film Wuthering Heights. Located at the foot of the hotel, Aysgarth Falls sits amongst an area of woodland which forms part of a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Christie & Co is seeking an asking price of £1.5 million for the freehold interest.
