North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Baldwins Accountants cements North East presence following successful first year in the region

One of the UK’s fastest growing accountancy firms is cementing its North East presence a year after acquiring its first office in the region.

Baldwins Accountants, which is one of the largest accountancy firms in the UK with 45 offices and over 1250 staff, will celebrate its successful first year in the North East by giving all of its regional offices a fresh new look in line with the Baldwins’ brand.

Over the last 12 months the dynamic accountancy practice acquired Rowlands Accountants, Evolution LLP, Alnwick Accountants, S V Bye, CTC Chartered Accountants, Brennan Neil & Leonard and most recently Pullan Barnes.

The acquisitions mean Baldwins now boasts a presence in Alnwick, Crook, Durham, Guisborough, Hetton Le Hole, Hexham, Jesmond, Portobello, Seaton Burn, Sunderland and Wynyard, with over 300 employees throughout the region.

Director, Shaun Knight, said: “The North East was the first step Baldwins took to expand outside of the Midlands and we’re thrilled to say the first year has been a great success.

“We saw the region as an opportunity to work in an area with undoubted business and entrepreneurial heritage, great future prospects, friendly people and most importantly, the businesses we chose to acquire had terrific leadership and teams, which would enable us to grow the Baldwins model in the North East.

“Given our rapid expansion, we wanted to give the market clarity and a clear message to the region’s business community by bringing all the North East offices together under one brand.

“We are proud to say over the last 12 months Baldwins has continued to deliver a quality service through the offices we’ve acquired and we’re pleased to say the firm is flourishing.”

Throughout its expansion, the Company has made a number of appointments and internal promotions at all levels across the region, as well as forming a North East board made up of Regional Directors Martin Barber, Andrew Little and Dawn Walton.

Speaking about the success of the firm, Shaun said: “Our expansion has enabled Baldwins to offer a local service, delivered by local people and this model is implemented throughout all of our offices in the UK.

“The achievements we’ve seen in the North East have subsequently given us the confidence to continue our growth in the region, having already made nine acquisitions in the area during our first year, and we have followed this up with further acquisitions throughout the UK, with more planned.”

Baldwins specialises in accountancy and business advisory services, including corporate finance and specialist tax advice to all businesses from start-ups to mature companies, across a broad range of business sectors.
